OM will be tough on human trafficking

WILLEMSTAD  – The Public Prosecutor (OM) sets priority to the investigation and prosecution of human trafficking. According to the prosecution, during recent months Curaçao has taken important steps in the fight against human trafficking. Signals about possible exploitation situations, are closely monitored by the prosecution and may lead to the imposition of criminal investigations.

Human trafficking in Curaçao has been headlines during the past week because of the several house searches and arrests. Four suspects have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in human trafficking. More arrests are not excluded according to OM spokesman Norman Serphos.
