Police arrest head immigration service at Hato Airport

airportWILLEMSTAD - The police, together with the Royal Military Police (Marechaussee), arrested the 57-year-old Henky Calmes on suspicion of drug trafficking and bribery.

Calmes is head of the Immigration Service at the Curaçao airport.

Drugs were found in his car. Several house searches followed Calmes’ arrest. Three other suspects were also arrested during these house searches. Mobiles, an IPad and an airsoft weapon were seized during this operation.

An unknown number of documents has also been found and included in the evidence relating to this investigation.

The police do not rule out more arrests but will not give more details about their investigation.
