Police continues with random traffic checkpoints

police checkpointsWILLEMSTAD - Saturday, the police held a large traffic checkpoint at Veeris. 384 cars were stopped. 15 of them were seized because of their technical conditions the cars could not be allowed on the roads.

101 drivers were fined because the papers were not in order or because they were not wearing seat belts. During the random checkpoints, three Jamaican women and one Venezuelan man were arrested for no valid residence permit.

The police will continue with these random checkpoints on the island. Motorists have to make sure they have their car documents in order.

Here in Curaçao it is important to have a valid driver’s license, a car inspection card, insurance and road taxes.

The car must also be in good conditions.
