Ruling Supreme Council on assassination Helmin Wiels postponed
THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD – The ruling of the Supreme Court on the lifelong conviction of the murderer of politician Helmin Wiels from Curaçao has been postponed to June 7th.
This was announced by a spokesman for the highest court in the Hague. The verdict was originally scheduled for Tuesday.
Wiels was shot on May 5, 2013 on the beach of Marie Pampoen in Curaçao. He was leader of the then largest political party Pueblo Soberano (Sovereign People).
Elvis Kuwas. received his life sentence by the court in Willemstad late August 2014, also for two other murders. The court confirmed the verdict later.
