Suspect subsidy fraud provisionally released
WILLEMSTAD - The 36-year-old woman who was arrested for possible embezzlement of parts of a 450,000 guilders grant money has been sent home.
Earlier this week several raids were held on her home and two offices. One of the offices was Speedy Security, which is owned by the former Minister of Finance George Jamaloodin. The woman is the manager of the company.
The subsidy from the Ministry of Finance was earmarked for community work in the neighborhoods Steenrijk and Divi Divi. According to the prosecution, further detention is no longer necessary as part of the investigation. However, the woman remains suspect in the case and the prosecution does not rule out more arrests in this case.
