Two traffic fatalities this weekend
WILLEMSTAD - Two almost identical accidents took place this weekend that cost the lives of two people. Shuxian Deng, born in China on May 7, 1993 crashed in front of the McDonalds on the Sta. Rosaweg.
The 50-year-old Raymond Feliciano Hortencia died after an accident on the road from Soto to town. Both a unilateral accident.
Shuxian was in the back of a Mitsubishi Outlander. The driver lost control of the wheel and crashed into a garden wall. The victim was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene from her injuries. The driver was rushed to Colombia. His condition was still critical on Sunday. Hortencia also lost control of his car on Sunday afternoon around three o'clock at Kaminda Monica Kapel-Matheew in Bandabou.
Police suspect here that the man drove too fast and lost control of his vehicle. Hotencia was not wearing a seat belt. He was thrown from the car. The victim was then transported in critical condition to the hospital and died there a few hours later. Shuxian and Raymond are the 9th and 10th traffic fatalities in Curaçao this year.
