260 kilos of cocaine hidden in cardboard boxes with plastic waste from Curaçao seized in the Netherlands

Cocaine-drugs-cokevangst-RotterdamROTTERDAM - In the port of Rotterdam, a shipment of 260 kilos of cocaine was found during an inspection by the Dutch Customs on Tuesday August 28.

The narcotics were hidden in a container with cardboard boxes and a batch of plastic waste. The container originated in Curaçao and was unloaded on 28 August at a terminal on the Maasvlakte.

On the night of Tuesday 28 on Wednesday 29 four people were arrested who stayed in the immediate vicinity of the terminal in question. A passenger car was also seized during that arrest.

Whether the discovery of this large batch of cocaine and the arrest of the four persons is related, is further investigated by the HARC team, a joint venture between Customs, Seaport Police, Public Prosecution Service and the FIOD in Rotterdam.
