AJV appeals to people’s ideas for new laws

Government centerWILLEMSTAD - The Antillean Lawyers Association (AJV) has recently launched a so-called crowd sourcing. All citizens of Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, St. Maarten, Saba and Statia are called to think about new legislation.

A selection is made from the responses. Some entries will be drawn up and presented as a draft bill to parliament.

Via the AJV Twitter Account (@ ant_juristen) there are several bill proposals posted in recent weeks. Until now, most of the proposals are related to the environment, traffic safety, crime and punishment. An individual believes that there is no need for new legislation, but enforcement of existing one.

Anyone can participate in the crowd sourcing and submit a proposal via Twitter (@ ant_juristen) or by sending an email to This may be until late February.
