Amigu di Tera wants all pigs to be culled in Curacao

PigsWILLEMSTAD - The message that came out this week that dioxin was found in pork meat, has caused quite a stir. The substance was present in 17 of the 18 samples that were tested in the slaughterhouse at Parera.

Dioxin is a carcinogenic substance and harmful to both humans and animals. According to the standards of the World Health Organization, dioxin may absolutely not be found in foods. According to Environment Organization Amigu di Tera all pigs on the island must be culled with a view to public health threats.

This drastic measure is necessary, according to the organization, because dioxin is very toxic and can cause very serious ailments.
