Animal Protection Curacao supports care farm Verriet

VerrietWILLEMSTAD - Animal Protection Foundation Curacao (SDBC) has followed the drama at the Verriet care farm with shock. The foundation reports this in a statement. They will suggest working with various parties to find a solution to avoid similar incidents in the future.

SDBC calls the Central Security Services (SKS) and the police to come up with solutions together. The animal foundation also reports that they are going to look at how they can support Fundashon Verriet.


Tuesday night care farm Verriet was broken into. The farm provides a daily schedule and employment for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. During the burglary different animals were stolen, killed or poisoned.

Government Help

The farm was twice a victim of vandalism and burglary. The organization suspects that it is the same perpetrators. Ben Whiteman, Minister of Health, Nature and Environment has announced that if the Verriet Institute wants help from the government, they have to submit an application first.
