Aqualectra approves requests for solar panels again

solar pilot projectWILLEMSTAD - Aqualectra ceases its opposition to solar energy for businesses and individuals. Starting today, they perform inspections and handles licenses again.

Last week, the utility company caused commotion when the CEO announced that they will not allow installation of solar panels. Reason for this is that Aqualectra purchases the energy generated by solar panels at the rate of 41 cents per Kilowatt, while the company produces electricity for 36 cents per Kilowatt.

The government has committed itself that they will consider the structure of the solar energy program again.
