Banda Bou Viba demonstrates on King’s Day
WILLEMSTAD – Even after a warning from the Prime Minister, Dr. Bernhard Whiteman that demonstrations would not be tolerated during King’s Day, the organization Banda Bou Viba was present in the streets to demonstrate.
The group expressed their dissatisfaction with the attention of the government, or the lack of attention, for the western part of the island, which is called Banda Bou.
Their slogan is Bándabou is Curaçao. The organization had about eighty people present during their demonstration.
The group handed a letter to the Vice Prime Minister, Ettiene van der Horst. Van der Horst wants to make an appointment with the organization for consultation, but the group refused to do so. “All we want is action now,” said a representative of the group.
Except for this demonstration there were no further major incidents during King’s Day.
