“Bank quarrel” escalates between Curacao and Sint Maarten

WILLEMSTAD - The quarrel between Curacao and St. Maarten on the joint Central Bank (CBCS) is escalating. Minister of Finance, George Jamaloodin threatens to file a complaint against some members of the Supervisory Board (SB) because they would have received instructions from the Government of Sarah Wescot-Williams, Prime Minister of Sint Maarten. That is not allowed according to the statutes of the Central Bank.

The warning issued by Minister Jamaloodin is not only directed against the members of the Supervisory Board, but also against the directors of the CBCS, the Country Sint Maarten and the government of Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams.
