BdC and ENNIA donate to Curaçao Media Organization

ENNIAWILLEMSTAD -  Today, Press day is celebrated on the former Dutch Antilles islands and Aruba. In honor of the occasion, Curaçao Media Organization will hold the "2014 Press Day Luncheon”, which is made possible in part by a donation by Banco di Caribe and ENNIA. Both companies wish to thank the press for their contribution to the daily news.

On September 1st, Press Day is celebrated on the former Dutch Antilles islands and Aruba. As a token of their appreciation, ENNIA and Banco di Caribe donated an amount to Curaçao Media Organization to cover part of the costs of the celebratory luncheon for all members of the local press. “Curaçao Media Organization provides our press members opportunities for personal development and training, so they can continue to provide our communities with accurate, fair and unbiased information, representing a plurality of opinions. And that is precisely one of the main requirements of a democratic society. As a company, we proudly support such an organization," according to Ralph Palm (President of the Managing Board of ENNIA).

The celebratory lunch will be held today for all members of the local press. Mr Julio Muñoz (President of Sociedat Interamericana de Prensa) will be speaking about the thin line between freedom of speech and defamation.

ENNIA and Banco di Caribe wish the members of the press a happy press day.
