Board respects choice for Van der Wall-Arnemann

Oil RefineryWILLEMSTAD - The Supervisory Board (SB) of Refineria di Kòrsou (RdK) (Curacao Refinery) regrets that there are people who are trying to besmirch the hiring process for a new director of the public company. According to Marinelle Maduro, president of the board, is the search for a new director was transparent and in accordance with the rules of Corporate Governance.

The Supervisory Board has taken steps to protect the Integrity and reliable information of the RdK. The Board is also considering taking legal steps against practices to smear the good name and the statutory organizations of the RdK.

It does not appear in the report made by Balance that Jose van der Wal-Arneman is not qualified for the top position at RdK.  The report states that there are three candidates that fit, in more or less degree, in the desired profile. The report also indicates that the final choice is to the shareholder. The report shows that Van der Wal-Arnemann possesses some good qualities.

The Supervisory Board indicates that they respect the shareholder’s (Government) decision because it is based on the vision for the company. In addition, according to the statutes, the appointment of a director is a matter of the shareholder and not the board.

The Board hopes that everyone respects the decision of the shareholder, who is to choose the best candidate for the company.
