Camelia-Römer not on PNP’s candidates’ list
WILLEMSTAD – In an extensive letter to her party leader, the current Minister of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning, Suzanne Camelia-Römer indicates that she will not be on the party’s candidates’ list for the upcoming elections. In the previous election, she received 3,442 votes which is more than the number one on the list, Humphrey Davelaar.
The letter talks about a difference of opinion with the current political leader on the party’s leadership. Last night, the party was supposed to have a meeting on this topic but it was canceled.
About the canceled meeting, Camelia-Römer writes: “At about 3:00 in the afternoon, the president of the party informed me by telephone in the presence of the List Committee that the political leader does not even agree to accept the invitation of the committee to talk about the list because he insists that the board appointed him to be the number one and there is nothing to discuss.”
According to Camelia-Römer, it is thanks to her efforts in the government that the party has received two seats in Parliament. This has to be respected.
There is information from unconfirmed sources that Camelia-Römer will participate with her own party in the upcoming elections.
