Candice Henriquez of JCI Dutch Caribbean elected as JCI Vice President 2015

JCIWILLEMSTAD -- JCI Dutch Caribbean is proud to announce that one of its members, Candice Henriquez, has been elected as one of the 2015 Vice Presidents of Junior Chamber International (JCI).

JCI is a membership-based nonprofit organization of young active citizens ages 18 to 40 in more than 100 countries who are dedicated to creating positive change in their communities. JCI members take ownership of their communities by identifying problems and targeting solutions to create impact. JCI allows young people to take action to create change they wish to see in the world.

JCI Dutch Caribbean is one of the national organizations of the JCI with local organizations in Curacao, Aruba and Sint Maarten. Over the past 53 years, members of JCI Dutch Caribbean have been conducting several projects aimed at creating positive change in our islands. Also, our organization has over time delivered several outstanding officers who served the organization on the international level.

During the 2014 JCI World Congress held in Leipzig, Germany from 24 – 29 November 2014, Candice Henriquez was elected as JCI Vice President for 2015. Since becoming a member in 2004, Candice Henriquez has served the JCI organization on the local and national level. Currently, she is the Growth and Development Committee member for the Americas.

As JCI Vice President Candice Henriquez will communicate and work with her assigned national organizations in the Americas i.e., JCI USA, JCI Canada, JCI Puerto Rico, JCI Honduras and JCI Dominican Republic. During 2015 she will be visiting these national organizations to motivate and train young people in these countries to take responsibility and address issues in their communities in a sustainable and effective manner.

It should be noted in this context that 2015 is a very special year for the JCI as the organization will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. Therefore, JCI will be conducting several activities and projects to commemorate this unique milestone. JCI Dutch Caribbean will also be participating in these projects.
