Cathlab operational again thanks to efforts multidisciplinary team
WILLEMSTAD - It's still faster than we thought. The Cath Lab is operational again on the hospital grounds. Yesterday, the equipment was brought back into use and even the first patient was treated.
This is according to the medical director of the hospital, Franke Scheper. The machinery and the computers of the cardiac catheterization suffered damage on Wednesday last week when an adjacent building was being demolished. It was feared that the next time patients should be treated in Colombia, but this never came to be.
A multidisciplinary team has been working 24 hours non-stop to get the Cath Lab operational again as fast as possible, said Scheper. The Cath Lab could open again after all the procedures and protocols were followed.
