Certification for dive and restaurant operators

CertificationDive-Restaurants140714-LWILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) honored 14 establishments who passed the certification program for Dive and Restaurant operators.  It was a total of 12 dive shops and 2 restaurants who received this certification. It’s the third time that certification is handed out to the dive operators and the second time around for the restaurants. Main objective for this program is to ensure that establishments are being consistent on their service level.

CTB is focusing on three types of establishments; dive operators, restaurant operators and apartments.  For the dive operators and restaurants CTB uses the assistance of Innovatie Centrum Curaçao (ICC), who verifies if the participating dive shop and restaurant meets all criteria. Primarily, security and service. The ICC team is well represented with professionals who have their expertise on various levels in the industry. For example when certifying a dive shop, reference is made to the PADI criteria.

One of the many advantages of this program is that every participating establishment receives a report so they can internally work on their improvement points. The establishment that passes this program will receive an official letter from CTB which formalizes the fulfillment of stipulated criteria. Besides this, the establishments can also use the ‘certified’ logo in their promotions.

The establishments who received the certification this time were, Bahia Apartments & Diving, Dutch Caribbean Sea Sports Hilton, Dutch Caribbean Sea Sports Marriott, Go West Diving, Ocean Encounters Sunscape, Ocean Encounters Lions Dive, Ocean Encounters Sta. Barbara, Relaxed Guided Dives B.V., Scuba Do N.V., The Dive Bus, Trunkdivers N.V., Duikcentrum Van de Ven, Sambal and Omundo Restaurant. CTB congratulates all certified establishments and would like to thank all who contributed to the success of this program.
