Chamber of Commerce and tourism sector to tackle immigration
WILLEMSTAD - The Chamber of Commerce, the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) and the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) will not accept the behavior of the Immigration Service at the airport anymore. The three organizations speak of an emergency.
Last weekend there were only three immigration officers for 1,500 passengers. Also the staffing and structure of the customs shall be amended as necessary. A green line, according to the organizations makes no sense, as all bags are still scanned, causing lengthy queues.
These three organizations are now demanding an urgent meeting with the Ministers of Justice, Nelson Navarro and the Minister of Finance, Jose Jardim to address this urgent problem.
