Chamber of Commerce starts with survey on service export

Service industries provide the majority of the Curaçao production, foreign exchange and jobs

Chamber of CommerceWILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recently completed a comparative study, in which Curaçao is compared with several countries in the export of services. Among others it has shown that a substantial part of the Curaçao revenue is generated by the service sectors, as well as the export of services. After completing this macro research, it is now time find effective solutions together with these service entrepreneurs to expand their exports.

It is the intention to obtain specific information through the survey and to provide recommendations to our businesses and to support their efforts to better move themselves in foreign markets. In addition, companies which are already exporting may be given other promising markets into consideration. Ultimately it is our entrepreneurs with their own experience and perseverance which will give a final verdict that can actually cause a significant increase in the Curaçao exports.

Soon the Chamber of Commerce will send to more than 1,500 contacts an e-mail with a link so that the survey can be completed online. After having processed the response, the entrepreneurs who participated are invited for a presentation of comparative research for specific services, as well as the findings of the survey. Based on the final results obtained during the sessions a plan of action will be outlined for the growth of the sector.

Any questions about the content of the survey may be directed to Mr. Dennis Dare, economist of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Curaçao, phone: 461-1451 or e-mail: dennis.dare@curacao-chamber.cw.
