CHATA Dive Task Force – Dive Against Debris

10373702_861465157229296_1436570301748634776_nWILLEMSTAD - On December 13th, 2014 the 1st CHATA Dive Task Force (CDTF) – Dive Against Debris was organized to clean up Boca Sami.  The CDTF is comprised of Curacao Tourist Board Quality Approved Dive Operations meeting specific quality standards.

With over 40 volunteers and local business sponsorship like Coca-Cola, Presidente & 10410217_861465730562572_3936983819482707785_nSelikor, this clean up removed over a ton of debris from the surrounding reef, the beach areas and from the local Fort!!

Highlights included mattresses, mannequin’s, chairs, tires and even a tri-cycle!!

“It is so wonderful to see these CTB Quality Approved Dive Operations working together… coming together for the benefit of Curacao.  This event is the 1st of many more to come for the CDTF!!”… says the Chairperson of the CDTF, Mr. Nolo Ambrosi from Ocean Encounters.

10858362_861465170562628_6883554738914172721_nCurrently, the CDTF is comprised of the following approved Curacao Dive Operations:  Ocean Encounters,  Atlantis Diving, The Dive Bus, Relaxed Guided Dives, Goby Divers, Atlantis Diving, Duikcentrum Van de Ven, Scuba Do, GO WEST Diving and Bahia Divers.

Events like this, emphasize the fact that Together… we can make a difference!!
