CIBC Firstcaribbean joins in surprise for children at the Skol Chema Maduro/Angela Jessurun during 30 year anniversary celebration

CIBCWILLEMSTAD - The children of Skol Chema Maduro/Angela Jessurun were treated to a special surprise recently as their school celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The school celebrated the memorable occasion with a great fair on the playground. CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank was honoured to have partnered up with staff of the school in transforming the celebration at the school into a fairy tale experience.  The kids, dressed up in specially printed shirts, enjoyed an array of games and were treated to savoury pastries and drinks.

Skol Chema Maduro/Angela Jessurun is truly an icon of education in the area of Montaña Abou.  Most of the students attending the school come from surrounding areas.

The school’s staff, over the last 30 years, have ensured that the school lived up to the spirit of dedication to education, something both Mrs. Chema Maduro and Mrs. Angela Jesserun, after whom the school was named, stood for. The 30th anniversary celebration, therefore, was fully dedicated to delighting the children. The day started with an official ceremony, and afterwards the pupils had the opportunity to enjoy an entire morning of fun on the playground which was transformed into a wonderland.

“This truly fits CIBC FirstCaribbean’s ambition to enrich the quality of life in the communities we serve.  Our bank is very delighted to have been able to contribute to the celebration of such an accomplishment as a 30 year anniversary of the school,” said Lysaira Ortela, Marketing Manager of CIBC FirstCaribbean.

“We are proud to be a part of this event honouring those for whom the school was named  in a way they truly would appreciate; with the students as a central point. The delighted faces of the kids enjoying the various games and savouries will stay with us for a long time,” Ortela said.

An exited Marie-Denise Hoyer-Henriquez, head of the school said: “Our kids enjoyed the celebration it was for them truly a dream come true.  We therefore thank all who have contributed to make this possible.  A special thanks to CIBC FirstCaribbean, who understood our goal and supported us kindly in this.“
