Consultation on new financial injection InselAir almost finished

InselAirWILLEMSTAD - The consultation on the hard needed financing injection for the local aviation company InselAir is in a final phase. This is according to the Minister of Economic Development Steven Martina in a recent interview.

The minister did not mention any amounts yesterday, but in early February in a media report, the Minister indicated that InselAir is asking the government to guarantee a loan of 3.6 million dollars. Since then, consultations have been held with the consortium of banks.

The money will be used by InselAir to create sufficient reserve capacity. At the moment the airline has two of the three F50 aircraft and four engines on reserve available. This means that there is no back-up if an aircraft fails or has to remain on the ground for a check and no additional engine.
