CTB: “American Airlines’ new route to Curaçao will help develop American market”
WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Tourism Board (CTB) received the great news that starting December 19 of this year, American Airlines will initiate direct flights from Charlotte to Curaçao. “Curaçao must be proud seeing that this is a direct result from the commitments and partnership between American Airlines and Curaçao to continue to grow and step up to the next level in tourism together with the airline. Charlotte offers daily services to 40 countries around the world, which will open international connections from Europe and Asia to our island,” said the Minister of Economic Development, Stanley Palm.
CTB and American Airlines have been working together on various promotional campaigns to increase passengers to Curaçao. One of the examples of this is the recent American Airlines campaign with Curaçao as a major partner in 9 strategic states in the U.S. CTB and the Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) proudly collaborated in this campaign, which was part of the promotion and introduction of the renewed product US Airways and American Airlines are offering, namely the American Airlines Vacation (AAV). Charlotte is one of American Airlines’ largest new routes after the merger between the airline and US Airways.
This new route will start on December 19 and will be operated weekly on Saturdays with an Airbus 319, which has the capacity of 128 seats. Sales for this new route starts on July 19. For CTB, this new nonstop route certainly means another way to continue developing the American market.
