CTEX declared bankrupt
WILLEMSTAD - The brand new data center Curaçao Technology Center (Ctex) was declared bankrupt last week. Also the company that owns Ctex was declared bankrupt.
With this ruling, the Court of Justice agreed with the request of the administrator Arnold Huizing, who was appointed on December 11 after the court granted automatic stay.
Ctex, which opened in 2014, had accumulated so much debt under the previous management under the leadership of Anthony de Lima, that it became impossible to rescue the company.
The property was sold in March this year. Huizing has been appointed as administrator and he should handle the financial matters. Reportedly the banks still have claims of up to some 7 million dollars.
For other creditors, such as suppliers, there is probably no more money left.
