Curacao American Preparatory School organizes open house event on Tuesday April 10th

MG_7130WILLEMSTAD - The Curacao American Preparatory School (CAPS) is an accredited, private school that teaches students from K4 through grade 12.  We teach all of our classes in English and follow an American-based curriculum with international influences.  CAPS opened its doors in Curacao in 1994 and has grown substantially since that time.  That said, we endeavor to remain a small school so that we can truly focus on the individual child, and in supporting that child in whatever way is appropriate to them through a tailor built program of instruction.

It is our small class sizes and family-like atmosphere that makes us unique. Classes focus onCAP2 Project Based Learning and students are encouraged to be creative, critical thinkers with good problem-solving skills.  Our high school graduates are admitted to universities globally.

While we focus on teaching in English, we welcome students who may need extra help in English and we support them through our ELL (English Language Learners) program.  Students are also taught Spanish and Dutch as a foreign language, and other subjects in addition to the traditional math, English, social studies and science include art, technology, physical education and music.  Our students also compete in intramural teams in sports including basketball, soccer and rugby.

CAP1The school hosts multiple events throughout the year, embracing both local and international celebrations. We like to kick start each year with a welcome barbeque, where all parents, students and teachers are encouraged to socialize and bond to further foster that family-like environment we strive to maintain.  Throughout the year we celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Sinterklaas, a holiday concert, International Week, sports day and host academic events including science, math and reading/writing Olympics.  We celebrate the students as global citizens and have monthly recognition of students who have shown positive citizenship throughout the school recognizing traits such as respect, collaboration and compassion.

The Curacao American Preparatory School is hosting an Open House next Tuesday, April 10th from 8:00 – 2:00 for families who are interested in joining our school community.  We welcome those who are interested in learning more about the school to come by so that we can show you all that CAPS has to offer.  For parents with students entering high school, we have a separate information session on Wednesday, April 11th at 7 pm.  For more information about the Open House or about the school, in general, please feel free to call us at (5999) 736-8674 or email the school at curprep@gmail.com.  You can find out more information on our website curprep.com or on our Facebook page @curacaoamericanprep.  We look forward to meeting you all next week and welcoming you to our CAPS family.
