Curaçao auction cars from underworld in Netherlands
THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - Luxury cars coming from the underworld in Curaçao, were auctioned in Amersfoort today. This auction today made justice today 165,000 euros richer.
It involves several luxury cars, including two Porsches and Audi that were seized last year in one action. It is noteworthy that the cars were already auctioned off, because the owners are still under investigation. They must appear in court for money laundering.
The cars that were auctioned today, were immediately brought to the Netherlands for security reason. At the depot on the island itself they are not safe: justice on the island seriously takes into account that criminals would steal the cars or burn them. “People think it is not pleasant to drive around in such a car on the island,” said spokesman Norman Serphos of the Public Prosecutor (OM) of Curaçao.
