Curaçao Culinary 2013

ChataWILLEMSTAD -- Sunday March 17th 2013 and Saturday March 23, 2013 the Academy Hotel in Punda was the battle ground for CHATA’s annual Pre-finals for junior and senior chefs in the Curacao Culinary 2013 competitions.

The competitions kicked off with 12 junior chefs and 10 Senior chefs competing for a spot in the finals taking place at the Academy Hotel next week Saturday March 30th 2013. The competition was fierce, with the prize at stake being a coveted spot on the Curacao Culinary 2013 team and of course, competing at the Taste of the Caribbean competition in Miami in June. The Academy Hotel saw many friends, family, supporters and culinary enthusiasts present to catch a glimpse of the chefs in action. On both competitions days at exactly 6:30 PM, after all participants received a certificate of recognition from CHATA’s President & CEO, Lizanne Dindial, the finalists for the Junior & Senior Chef competitions were announced, the proud Junior chef finalists are: Aisheron Philips from Maris Stella SBO and Reander de la Croes also from Maris Stella SBO, Dyanne Sophia from Restaurant de Gouverneur, Ashohary Juliana from Maris Stella SBO. There were 10 senior chefs competing for a spot in the finals and the competition was stiff! The judges had a tough deliberation and after much back and forth, it was decided that 5 chefs would go on to compete in the finals. The senior chef finalists are: Carlos Anthonij from Restaurant Nemo, Adriyel Lourens from Baoase Luxury Resort, Shanot Ocalia from the Renaissance, Ayron Pieters from Restaurant de Gouverneur, and Raynell Jansen from Baoase Luxury Resort. The Finals for Chef and Junior Chef will take place at the Academy Hotel Curacao at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 30th, 2013 and the 2013 Curacao Culinary team will be announced that same day at 6:00 PM. CHATA would like to congratulate all participating chefs and congratulate each and every one of them for their efforts. On Sunday, the Finals for Junior and Senior Chef will take place at the Academy Hotel in Punda. Entrance will be free of charge and friends, family, supporters, or culinary enthusiasts are most welcome!
