Curaçao, port of call for the Regatta Sails Latin America 2018
WILLEMSTAD - Large three- and four masted tall ships such as the "ARC Gloria" (Colombia) and the "B.E. Esmeralda" (Chile) will arrive in Curaçao on Thursday the 15th of July.
Curaçao is one of the ports of SAILS Latin America 2018, a grand nautical festival around the South-American continent, which starts on the 25th of March, 2018, in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Then, cruising towards Antarctica, the tall ships will sail by Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Curaçao, Colombia, Venezuela, Santo Domingo and Cozumel, finishing in Veracruz (Mexico) on the 2nd of September 2018.
The event in Curaçao, VELAS LATINOAMERICA CURAÇAO 2018 (VLAC 2018), will be held mostly in our Port City. The organization of the event in Curaçao, Curaçao Sail Foundation, expects various large three- and four masted tall ships like the "ARC Gloria" (Colombia) and the "B.E. Esmeralda" (Chile). The total number of ships is not known yet. The participants will arrive on Thursday the 15th of July and they will stay until Sunday the 18th, when they will set sail to the next Port of the Regatta (Cartagena de Indias, Colombia).

SAILS Latin America 2018 is one of the events during 2018 organized by the Republic of Chile and its Navy. The country will be commemorating the Oath of Independence that took place two hundred years before.
