Customs officers protest against policy
WILLEMSTAD - The Customs officers came this morning at half past eight together to protest against the policies of director Jules Ilario.
The unions have called the officers to put down their work and attend the meeting. According to union president Juan Lourens, the policy does not correspond to the rules laid down in the National Decree and causes problems in the workplace. It is not certain whether the services of customs will proceed as normal today.
The employees of all customs services, including the Hato airport, in Punda, came to the head office in Nieuwe Haven this morning. Whether this action will be followed by other ones, is not yet known. The members will decide this today.
