Darick Jonis must invest in Aqualectra

AqualectraWILLEMSTAD - According to the president of the union STK, Edmond Francisca, the Aggreko electricity generators are not necessarily cheaper than the turbines at Mundo Nobo. The chairman contradicts earlier statements by Darick Jonis, director of the utility company Aqualectra. Francisca does not think he can make a comparison between Aggreko and Mundo Nobo.

The generators use light fuel, which is much more expensive than heavy fuel used at Mundo Nobo, Francisca indicated. He also said there no comparison can be made because Mundo Nobo much older and requires more maintenance and the personnel cost is higher.

“If Mundo Nobo was in the same shape as Aggreko then the production costs would be much lower. The production cost per kWh is 55 cents. The price could go down by 20 cents if maintenance is tackled. This is precisely why Jonis should invest in Mundu Nobo,” Francisca said.
