Debrot: “No doubt about quality products Asphalt Lake Recovery”
WILLEMSTAD - There is no doubt about the quality of the products of Asphalt Lake Recovery. Nothing leaves Curaçao without being checked by certified inspectors. This is according to the Director of Asphalt Lake Recovery Jason Debrot.
Yesterday Debrot’s house was raided in connection with the investigation dubbed Andante. In total six places were searched including homes and offices of various agencies. The oil refinery, the Asphalt Lake Recovery and United Trust, owned by Gregory Elias were also searched.
According to investigators the case is about mixing crude oil with other materials that are damaging for the environment. Debrot says that Asphalt Lake Recovery is in itself not a suspect in the case, but it has more to do with a client in Belgium.
Through that client, contaminated fuel was delivered in the Netherlands to ships.
It was Dutch authorities who requested these raids in Curaçao.
