Deferred payment InselAir extended
WILLEMSTAD - The judge has extended the deferred payment of the local airline InselAir by one month.
During this period one can claim the estate or property of InselAir without the consent of the court. Trustee Rogier van den Heuvel has asked the court yesterday to extend the cooling off period to make arrangements with creditors.
The court finds the request of the Trustee in the interest of InselAir and its creditors and has ordered the extension until May 12.
Former Minister of Economic Development Eugene Rhuggenaath agreed to a 33 million guilder loan for the ailing local private aviation company. One of the demands was that the airline would have a partially new government. The Canadian Gilles Filiatreault as interim CEO and André Delger as CFO.
The first part of their plan is for the airline to go back to basics. Currently, InselAir is only operating to and from Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
