DHL upgrades delivery service in Curaçao and Aruba

Larger aircraft allows increased package capacity
New routing means early arrivals and enhanced same-day Customs clearance and delivery capability

DHLPLANTATION -  DHL, the world’s leading international express delivery service, has upgraded its services in Curaçao with the deployment of a new aircraft and new routing that brings deliveries into Curaçao with industry-leading speed.

The new DHL aircraft, an expanded-capacity 737 jet, will transit from Miami to Panama City and land in Curaçao at 7:30 a.m., three hours earlier than previously. This allows time for the DHL Customs brokerage on Curaçao to expedite clearance of packages subject to duty charges, and then for DHL couriers to deliver the packages to their final destination that same day.

The DHL jet then does a same-day loop to Aruba, Santo Domingo and back to Curaçao for pickup of outbound shipments.

“DHL is committed to supporting Curaçao and its surrounding islands with the full benefit of the DHL global infrastructure,” said Dan Taylor, Managing Director of DHL Curaçao. “This expanded service is a direct response to the needs of our customers and the growing Curaçao economy.”

DHL has had a presence on Curaçao for more than 25 years.

“We see an increased demand for time-definite international services from small and medium-size businesses across the Caribbean,” said Reiner Wolfs, CEO of DHL Express Caribbean. “This latest air network upgrade into several Caribbean markets allows us to provide our customers the fastest access to and from major trade lanes, and adds the needed capacity to respond to volume growth.” Wolfs added: “We will continue to make investments in our people, infrastructure, and air network to provide a flawless service to our growing Caribbean customer base.”
