Dismantling Aggreko has begun

aggrekoWILLEMSTAD – The dismantling of the rented machines of the company Aggreko has begun. These machines are located at Aqualectra’s Mundu Nobo plant in Otrabanda. This was announced by the Director of the utility company, Darrick Jonis.

“Little by little we will take down all these machines,” Jonis indicated.

The machines or generators, as Aqualectra has indicated before, are to guarantee the constant supply of electricity on the island. They are used to give a reliable service to the community at a good rate while Aqualectra is working on a mixture of production that can guarantee the island a sustainable, reliable and affordable production of electricity.

Aqualectra is now expanding its plant at Dokweg (Nieuwe Haven) and everything indicates that by the end of this year, the works at this plant will be finished. This is the reason why the company decided to start dismantling some of the Aggreko’s machines. According to Jonis, this does not mean that all the generators will be taken down, but most likely by the end of 2014 or the beginning of 2015, these will be halved.
