Dismantling of south wing Shopping Center for construction new hospital has begun

Youth in “Rumbo pa Trabou” included in the project.

ColonWILLEMSTAD – Work has begun on dismantling the south wing of the Colon Shopping Center in Otrabanda for the construction of the new hospital. After the dismantling, workers will start demolishing the building. This was necessary since plans have changed after the owners of several buildings on the Pater Eeuwensweg refused to sell their property for the construction of the hospital.

The contractor in charge of the dismantling and demolishing is using some young men from the “Rumbo pa Trabou” (On your way to work) project of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. These are youth between 21 to 29 years old. They are registered at the Job Data Bank.

The hospital will take about 3 years to be constructed, which means that these young men will have a job during this period of time.
