Dutch military officer arrested with drugs
WILLEMSTAD - A 24-year-old Dutch soldier was arrested by a security guard last Saturday night in possession of cocaine. Then he was handed over to the investigating officers of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. The soldier was sent back to the Netherlands.
The officer has been arrested with a user quantity of drugs in his pocket, that is a maximum of half a gram. He is a sailor of the ship the Zr. Ms. Zealand. The ship arrived in Curaçao last week to combat drug trafficking at sea.
The Ministry of Defense has a zero-tolerance policy regarding hard drugs. Soldiers who still have it with them are immediately fired. Whether the sailor has been dismissed has not been announced.
