Exhibition – ‘Schipbreuk, Bunitesa Di Dekadensia’ By Monique Harbers
WILLEMSTAD -- We cordially invite you to our first exhibition for 2015, 'Schipbreuk, Bunitesa di Dekadensia' by Monique Harbers on Saturday January 31, 2015 from 10:30 am.
This exhibition features photographs of shipwrecks above as well as below the sea surface.
Monique Harbers (1968) has been working and living in Curacao for a couple of years. She is inspired by the beauty that lies in decay of materials but also also the vibrant colors of Willemstad. In the past she exhibited work of weathered houses and now she chose to depict shipwrecks eroded by the sea.
Monique Harbers has had various succesfull exhibitions in The Netherlands and Curaçao for example 'Schipbreuk: Bunitesa di Dekadensia' (2014) in the MuZEEum in Vlissingen, 'Curaçao Treasures' (2013) in the Curaçaohuis in The Hague, in the WTC during Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival (2011 and 2014) and in the Curaçao Maritime Museum (2014), amongst others.
We hope to welcome you to enjoy the beauty in decay.
