Ferry Caracas Bay sold to Turkey
WILLEMSTAD - HSS Discovery, which has been in the Caracas Bay for four years, was sold to a Turkish organization. More than two million dollars were paid for the ferry. It must be moved within thirty days. The case surrounding the missing diesel barrels from the ferry in 2011 caused a stir.
On November 25, 2011 the ferry sailed into the harbor from La Guaira, Venezuela. After a facelift, it was intended to attract investors to buy the ship from owner Albamar Shipping Company SA Panama. In January or February 2012 the ship was supposed to start as a ferry service to transport goods, cars and passengers.
