Financing major projects Marriott and CAP ready
WILLEMSTAD - The financing of two major projects here on the island is ready. It involves the construction of the four-star Marriott Courtyard and an expansion of Curaçao Airport Partners, CAP.
The new Marriott will be constructed in the Rif area located in Otrabanda. The construction will begin in the last quarter of this year and will cost about 64 million guilders. CAP also plans to invest 64 million guilders in the airport. This includes going to the expansion and upgrading of airport facilities, expansion of the terminal building and new stores.
Also the implementation of parts of the long-term plan, which was agreed with the government, will start. The beginning of this comprehensive project is January next year. The two major investments were announced during the debate on the economy at the University of Curaçao last weekend.
