Fire work warehouse was rejected in 2007 by Fire Department

WILLEMSTAD – The fire work warehouse which exploded last Saturday afternoon was rejected in 2007 by the Fire Department. However, the government did not take action then based on the safety. The people who were in the warehouse during the explosion, were reportedly involved in cleaning up the old fireworks. By unknown cause the explosion took place, which was fatal for three employees. Of the injured, there was one transferred to Medellin in Colombia for his third degree burns. His condition is now stable. Another is still in the hospital. The other three were sent home after treatment. Today, the business owners of the industrial estate Seru Lora come together for a plan of action to once and for all get rid of the fire work warehouse.

TeleCuraçao and CBA Television are organizing on Wednesday December 19, 2012 an evening fundraiser for relatives of the victims of the deadly explosion in the warehouse. The fundraiser was set up by the Curacao Media Organization, who will calls the public and businesses on Wednesday to give generously. The broadcast begins at 7 pm and lasts up to 11 hours.
