WILLEMSTAD - Fuel prices and utility rates will go up again. The price per liter of gasoline will go up on May 31 from 1,394 guilders to 1.55 guilders. This was reported Bureau Telecommunications and Post today in a press release.
A liter of low sulfur diesel increased from 0.877 guilders to 0.895 guilders. Electricity increases minimal and on June 1, will be 0.5552 guilder at a consumption between 250 and 350 kWh.
Water will be 12.3300 guilders per cubic meter at a consumption between 9 and 12 cubic meters, which an increase of about 5 cents.
The rate increase for the utility tariffs is primarily the result of higher fuel prices combined with the expiration of the remaining recovery, which has a price-depressing effect.
