Gas, water and electricity a lot cheaper

CuroilWILLEMSTAD – Curaçao really needs some good news now, especially for the consumers’ wallets. This good news will be on October 1, when car drivers go to tank their cars. Gasoline will be 13 cents cheaper on this day. At the pump you will pay 2.24 guilders. Diesel drivers pay one guilder 84, which is only 2 cents less than now.

Electricity and water will also become cheaper as per that date.

Water will be 29 cents cheaper. The current tariff is 8.03 and will be 7.74 cents per cubic meter starting October 1. The price drop is due to a decrease in the fuel component of the tariff. Which is reduced by more than 2.40 guilders to almost 2.11 guilders.

The electricity rate decreases by 3.5 cents (to be precise 3.54 cents per kilowatt hour, kWh). Reason for this is the fuel portion of the tariff decreases. The base rate remains unchanged. This leads to a rate of 56.9 cents for domestic use up to 250 kWh (both postpaid and prepaid).
