Good results for Omega High School

OmegaWILLEMSTAD - The Omega High School, which started this year with afternoon classes for school dropouts, has achieved good results at the end of this school year. At the vocational level, about 80 percent were successful in finishing the year. At the HAVO, about 55 percent of the students received their diplomas and at pre-university level, all students were successful. Also on the lower levels, the management is satisfied with the percentage of students that will continue on to the next grade. According to the school management, this is an indication that the methods used by their school guarantees positive results.

The Omega School will start soon with an afternoon school. Starting in August youths who have not completed their school may still do so in the afternoon. The anthroposophist school says that are offering this training after many requests from parents. Omega calls it the second chance education.

Those who want to finish their education must put aside 4,000 guilders per year to pay for the training. Free education does not apply to the Omega College, according to a court ruling from last year. The court indicated that the school does not have its act together.
