Gyanno van Kanten wins the Johnnie Walker™ ‘Keep Walking Curaçao’ photo competition

Keep Walking WinnerWILLEMSTAD - United Distributors Curaçao and Johnnie Walker™ are proud to announce that local photographer Gyanno van Kanten is the winner of the Keep Walking Curaçao photo competition.

The past several weeks has been an exciting time as many passionate Yiu di Korsou shared the beauty of our Dushi Kórsou on Instagram for the world to see with #KeepWalkingCuracao. People shared photos showing the allure of our white sandy beaches and the charm of our historical architecture, from the brightly-colored Handelskade to the turquoise-blue waters of Jan Thiel.

The winning photo is a stunning aerial shot of Waaigat and Punda taken by Gyanno (@gvkanten on Instagram) using a drone – a wonderful contrast between the deep blue of the Caribbean Sea and the pastel-colored buildings of Punda. “This picture actually came as a pleasant surprise”, Gyanno said. “I didn’t know it would line up in this unique way, even though I’ve been visiting Punda for years. I love the thought of local pictures being used and I hope the Keep Walking Curacao campaign helps raise local awareness and especially appreciation of the beauty we have here on Curacao.”

As the winner of the competition, Gyanno will receive the gift of our rarest and most luxurious blend, Johnnie Walker® Blue Label™. Most importantly, however, his photo will be featured on our local social media page and billboards around the island spreading our message of unity and progress: “Keep Walking Curaçao”. We hope that this message will inspire every Yiu di Korsou to aspire to the same goal we live by at Johnnie Walker™ – to strive for a tomorrow that’s better than today, to forge your own path, and to enjoy every step forward.

A limited edition Keep Walking Curaçao series of Johnnie Walker® Black Label® featuring Gyanno’s photo will be available this holiday season at select stores. For more information visit us at or at
