Head tax cruise passengers goes up
WILLEMSTAD - The so-called head tax paid by passengers of cruise ships, goes up. This is how the construction of the second mega pier will be funded.
Eventually, each cruise passenger will have to pay eight dollars. The price increase will be implemented in phases. Each passenger is currently being charged 3.50 dollars. This will go up to four dollars, then to 5.50 until it reaches eight dollars. This must be done in a period of ten years.
Construction of the second mega pier will initiate in January of next year.
