Hope for Fundashon Prevenshon
WILLEMSTAD - There is hope for the survival of the Fundashon Prevenshon (Prevention Foundation). The foundation receives the promised 1.3 million guilders expected this year from the government. Next Wednesday this will be discussed with the Ministry of Health, Nature and Environment.
The oncologist and president of the foundation Bob Pinedo is moderately optimistic about these discussions and the future of his organization. The total operating expenses this year are 1.9 million guilders. In March the foundation received 600,000 guilders in subsidy.
On a monthly basis, the foundation checks some 800 women on preventative breast and cervical cancer. It employs 15 workers.
