InselAir has always two people in the cockpit
WILLEMSTAD - Insel Air has always two people in the cockpit. This is according to one of the airlines’ director, Edward Heerenveen in an interview.
The reason for his statement is the accident with an Airbus in France, where the captain was locked out of the cockpit and the co-pilot crashed the airplane killing 149 passengers and crew aboard. “This is not possible on InselAir’s aircrafts. Should one of the pilots leave the seat, the purser must temporarily take place in the cockpit,” said the airline’s director.
InselAir took over this procedure from the former local aviation company ALM.
