InselAir’s hub network strategy
WILLEMSTAD – The local aviation company, InselAir has today 27 destinations and 40 routes flying. The airline counts 180 city pairs and according to the Chief General and International Affairs, Edward Heerenveen during the press conference, their network strategy has just begun.
“We will guide you through this network and give you a good view of what is InselAir, what is the future, what are the possibilities and what is the potential for Curaçao,” said Heerenveen.
According to the numbers presented during the press conference, InselAir in 2015 is covering 40 routes in the Caribbean, Latin America and the U.S.A. using 19 aircrafts. According to Heerenveen, one of the reasons for InselAir’s growth is the fact that the ABC islands are better located than any other island for serving South America to South East U.S.A. and the Caribbean. “InselAir therefore can make better, easier and shorter connections than its competitors, Copa Airlines and Avianca. If we look at the different geographical locations and focus on the Caribbean, we can immediately notice the advantage InselAir has over Panama based Copa airlines and the Colombian based airline, Avianca. Our route is always more or less a straight line compared to others.”
“We consider Latin America’s tourism and business, the future of the ABC islands. From South America to the Caribbean, we are experiencing the fastest growing trend and South America to North America has the second fastest growth. For both trends, InselAir is perfectly positioned to transport these vast amounts of people to and from their respective destinations,” said Heerenveen.
